Biotechnology Project Manager, Application Sciences

GRO Biosciences (“GRObio”) is redefining therapeutics by leveraging new protein building blocks to transform treatment for countless patients. Our groundbreaking science expands the amino acid alphabet to deliver on the promise of protein-based therapies. Our GRO platform creates novel proteins with an expanded alphabet of non-standard amino acids (NSAAs), providing therapeutic modalities that were previously inaccessible. We’re applying our groundbreaking science to advance partnered and collaborative programs, as well as our own pipeline of unique NSAA therapeutics with the promise of unprecedented potency, stability, and immunotolerance.

We are seeking a highly motivated and goal-oriented Project Manager to join the company. The successful candidate is expected to manage and ensure the timely execution of milestones across multiple scientific programs in order to achieve our company’s mission and vision. The Biotechnology Project Manager acts as the liaison between project-specific stakeholder groups to ensure effective partnership efforts. The successful candidate must thrive in a highly dynamic and collaborative scientific environment and be committed to advancing new therapeutics from the laboratory bench to humans. This role offers hybrid flexibility for working remotely and on-site in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Specific tasks may include, but are not limited to:
  • Management of preclinical development timelines with sponsors and/or collaborators to ensure milestones are met.
  • Regular communication with partner CROs and CMOs to ensure efficient workflow between organizations.
  • Coordination of project status and deliverables between all stakeholders (scientists, project leads, and management).
  • In synergy with the project teams and leadership, managing and monitoring project resources and scope to maintain deliverables, milestones, and budget.
  • Preparation and submission of reports and/or deliverables as needed.
  • Coordination with business team to oversee the execution of legal agreements (e.g., MTAs, CDAs, and MSAs).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in project management, business, biological sciences, or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations strongly preferred, ideally in drug development and/or immunology.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ related experience in project
    management in a laboratory or research environment. Experience
    coordinating projects between biotech and CROs/CMOs preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for healthcare and innovation, and willingness to work across diverse therapeutic areas and modalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to master new technical areas at sufficient depth to speak the language internally and to recognize when external developments represent a cause for alarm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to be assertive with respect.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking, with ability to manage shifting priorities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
